DIY: Bathroom Shelves

It’s amazing how much bigger a small bathroom can feel when you maximize function; in this case storage.  The best part is that it doesn’t have to cost much.

Supplies:  6 – 10″ galvanized pipe threaded at both ends, 6 – galvanized floor flange, 6 – caps, 3 – 1′ x 10′ boards primed and painted (or stained to your preference).

I wasn’t able to anchor into a stud, so I used anchors and screws to fasten the floor flange to the wall and then just screwed in the threaded pipe and end cap.

At first I wasn’t sure if I liked the industrial look of the galvanized pipe, but once I got towels and other things on the shelves it really grew on me.

It always amazes me how using vertical space can really improve the look and function of a space.

Are you working on any organization projects around the house? I’d love to hear about it.
