About a month ago I decided to start taking B12 to see if the benefit of improved fat metabolism/ weight loss is actually true. I was pleasantly surprised after a month of daily use, that there were actually some very real benefits to report. I’m currently taking one 5000 mcg lozenge every morning. I don’t think I would have noticed much with the standard over the counter 1000 mcg pills. (The exact brand I purchased is linked below)
Vitamin B12 is needed to convert carbohydrates into glucose; leading to improved energy and a decrease in fatigue. I noticed a definite increase in energy after two weeks of regular use. I was getting some sort of cardio workout five days a week; but I noticed that I felt less drained during and after my workouts on B12.
B12 helps in regulation of the nervous system, reducing depression and stress. I’m not a doctor, and can’t speak to any of this scientifically, but I wholeheartedly believe that being on B12 has improved my mood and given me a little extra bounce in my step.
It helps maintain a healthy digestive system. Vitamin B12 also protects against heart disease, improves unhealthy cholesterol levels, protects against stroke, and high blood pressure. I’ve made some changes to my diet, eating less processed food and have embraced a largely clean eating lifestyle, but I definitely feel that my digestive system is in much better shape. If that’s a result of the B12, the clean eating, or a combination of both; I’m not sure. Whatever it is; I feel great.
Vitamin B12 is your rock star for healthy skin, hair, and nails. It helps in constant renewal of the skin. I’m huge on skincare, and although I can’t say for sure; I do believe that my hair and skin are less dry since using B12.
B 12 helps protect against cancers including breast, colon, lung, and prostate cancer. Having had thyroid cancer, I’ll take any measures to protect myself against cancer and improve my health. From my research, it seems well documented that B12 has some serious health benefits.
